Proofreading

This is your most basic editing service, and it is best suited for final drafts. I thoroughly review the manuscript in its entirety for capitalization, punctuation, spelling errors, and typos. I will also watch for consistency and formatting errors before handing over a final, completed document.

Copy Editing

Here we have what we in the publishing world call the polishing part of editing. I go line by line through your manuscript and fix: active vs passive voice, awkward sentences, capitalization, consistency, factual accuracy, grammar, lengthy sentences, new lines and paragraphs, punctuation, repetition, spelling, syntax, and typos.

Line Editing

Does your manuscript need a lot of work to get it where you want it? Then this service might be exactly what you need. This is more of an in-depth editing process and here I go through your manuscript line by line and fix active vs passive voice, awkward sentences, capitalization, clarity, consistency, descriptions (show vs tell), factual accuracy, flow, grammar, lengthy sentences, mood and tone, new lines and paragraphs, punctuation, repetition, sense, spelling, syntax, tense, and typos.

Developmental Editing

Have you finished your manuscript? Are you looking to make sure your plots and subplots are working? Are your characters believable and consistent? And is the overall structure sound? I am here to help. With this editing service I thoroughly read through your manuscript from start to finish, making comments in the margin along the way flagging any issues or concerns regarding believability, chapter length and structure, plot and subplots, voice, and giving you feedback about what's working and how the story can be improved for a better chance of representation or self-publishing success.
