These are a few of the most commonly asked questions I receive from clients regarding my editing services.
How long does an edit take?
-The editing time may vary depending on the amount of work required. I communicate with you the author frequently throughout the process via email with queries regarding the project and keep you up to date on my progress. Usually on a weekly basis.
How do you determine your fees?
-Editing a manuscript is very time consuming. I thoroughly go through a manuscript line by line and make revisions and corrections. I typically make two passes through the manuscript and occasionally make a third pass for completeness.
What if I dislike the edits and revisions of my work?
-If you disagree with a point my editing makes, let me know. I surely do not want you to write something you are not passionate about, or you do not agree on a fundamental level. My goal is to collaborate with you to make your book the best it can be, and that requires good communication and mutual respect.
How do I pay my editor?
-Once we set the fee, it remains set. Our agreement will remain unchanged. I expect 50% of the fee upon delivery of the manuscript, and the other 50% of the fee upon return of the completed manuscript. I accept PayPal and bank transfers.
How do I send my manuscript?
Currently, I only work with digital content and prefer Microsoft Word files. I can accept manuscripts via email or digital fax. I will provide the fax number upon request.
